I see an overwhelming amount of women trying to do too much, too soon after delivering a baby. So many things are going on with a woman's body after delivery.
Amidst the false perception of celebrities "bouncing right back" after birth, it can be appealing to a woman to resume normal activities soon after birth, but it is not recommended.
To protect a woman's long-term health - mental health, pelvic floor, etc, it is recommended to take it east the first 40 days after delivering the baby. This means no lifting anything heavier than the baby, resting in bed, restraining from household chores and outside errands.
Focus on bonding with the baby and recuperating is the number one priority.
