Words are important. Using affirmations to change the course of your life is not new aged nonsense. It's actually scientific and common sense. If all a child hears all his life is - you're horrible, you're always late, you're so disorganized, you're such a clutz, you will never be good enough, you're worthless, you're a waste of time, etc - the child will have a low self-esteem and have difficulty functioning in life.
You might even be shocked by the idea that anyone would even say those horrible things to a child. However, this is what many grown adults inner dialogue with themselves sound like. With such negativity, it is no wonder why functioning if life is more difficult. Being happy and feeling fulfilled are hard to come by with that inner dialogue.
I challenge you to change the record. Play more positive songs. I promise it will help you feel better and more productive. Here are a few affirmations that you can say to yourself in the morning and a night (or whenever) to give yourself permission to take care of yourself.
